David Heller, 91, born October 10, 1933 in Philadelphia passed peacefully on January 19th, 2025 after a hard fought battle with Dementia. He is the son of Charles R. and Margaret M. Heller (predeceased), and loving husband of Mary T. Heller for 70 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary, three daughters, Mary Senecal (Ken), Patricia McCardle, and Kathleen, and three sons, Michael (Jeanne), Daniel (Maria), and Stephen. He is also survived by his sister Mary Carol, sister-in-law Dolores, and daughter-in-law Jeanie (predeceased David Heller, Jr.). David is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
He is predeceased by his son David Jr., brothers Charles and John, sisters Margaret Citirino, Catherine Hair, Elizabeth Carpenter, and Kathleen Heller.
He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High school, where he attended from 1948 through 1952, while playing Baseball and Football for the school. In the 1950 Philadelphia City High School Championship title played at Shibe Park, Northeast Catholic High School defeated Overbrook 4-3. He is a retired forklift operator for Sears, where he worked for 41 years.David was an extremely hard working man working various jobs in addition to working at Sears to support his family. He would often clean windows after his shift, having his sons help him and the customers loved him.
David was very athletic and could do anything. With his spouse saying anything he tried he could do it. He loved sports, playing football, baseball, and softball competitively. He was a loyal Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and attended church regularly. David valued his faith and family as the most important things in his life, setting an extremely high standard.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, as he had a very personal relationship with God, he had a very special connection with each and every member of his family. He loved simple jokes, phrases, special handshakes, and sayings.
He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors, jogging, biking, swimming, hiking, ice skating, camping he would do it all.
Relatives and friends are invited to David's Visitation Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 7 to 9 PM, at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115. David's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:30 AM, at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn St., Phila., PA 19111 (No Calling Hours Friday). Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
