David P. Hagerty, a life long resident of Philadelphia, died at his home on December 24, 2020. He was 90.
Born in Philadelphia, 'Chief' was the son of the late George and Claudine (Smith) Hagerty.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Air Man 1st Class. David earned his Masters of Science in mechanical engineering at Drexel University (he and his wife Marie were raising five children; he accomplished his goal of his Master's Degree in night school). He was employed for many years at the Atlantic-Richfield Refineries for many years before retiring.
David was the loving husband of the late Marie (Powers) Hagerty; Marie died in 2004. He is survived by his devoted children: Terry Nesbitt, Steven Hagerty, Maureen DeLorenzo (Harry) and William (Natalie) Hagerty and he was the loving grandfather of David, Julianne, Ana, Mia and Emily and is also survived by his sister, Sister Claudine Hagerty, I.H.M. He is predeceased by his son David Hagerty (Patricia).
Due to restrictions in place because of the Covid 19 virus, the family has chosen to have private services for David; his interment will take place in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
