Charles Ensminger Obituary

Charles Ross Ensminger, 79, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

Charlie “Ross” proudly served in the United States Navy, where he embodied the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Following his military service, he worked at the Philadelphia Gas Works for over 30 years as a service man.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always placing family and loved ones at the center of his life. He was a member of Concordia Lodge 67, Free & Accepted Masons and served as Past Master. Charlie enjoyed crossword puzzles, golf, history and was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Kitchen Ensminger, and his children Barbara Lennon (Bob), Mark Spence (Kim), Ross Ensminger (Allison), Michelle DiCesare (Rich), eight grandchildren Shane, Zachary, Brian, Conner, Mason, Maguire, Chloe, and Parker who will forever cherish his memory and honor the profound impact he had on their lives.

He is survived by his sisters Helen Stephens, Cynthia Leslie and brother Roger Ensminger; all of Athens, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Adelia Ensminger, sister Edanna Lawson, brother Randy Ensminger, daughter Debbie Hartman, and grandson Devon DiCesare.

Private services and interment will be held to celebrate Charlie’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

His life was a testament to the virtues of duty, love, and generosity. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
