WE'LL REMEMBER HIM AS A LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, AND GRANDFATHER
THE FAMILY OF CHACKO K. CHACKO SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE, PRAYERS AND SUPPORT DURING THIS TIME OF LOSS. YOUR PRESENCE IS A TESTAMENT TO THE LOVE AND RESPECT HE INSPIRED IN THOSE WHO KNEW HIM, AND WE ARE DEEPLY GRATEFUL. WE TAKE COMFORT IN KNOWING HIS LEGACY OF KINDNESS, HUMILITY, AND FAITH WILL LIVE ON THROUGH THOSE HE TOUCHED. HIS QUIET STRENGTH, UNWAVERING FAITH, AND DEEP DEVOTION TO HIS FAMILY WILL FOREVER REMAIN IN OUR HEARTS.
Born October 1, 1936, in Makkapuzha (Ranni), Kerala, India, Chacko K. Chacko was the beloved son of the late Mr. Yohannan Chacko and the late Mrs. Annamma Chacko of the Kolanjikompil house. He was the third of nine siblings and grew up in a close-knit family. Chacko earned a degree in civil engineering and worked at Bhilai Steel Plant in Madhya Pradesh, India, for nearly 20 years. On November 29, 1965, he married Ammini (Thomas) Chacko, and together they raised their two children, Ani (Anu) and Jacob (Binu). In 1983, the family immigrated to Philadelphia, seeking new opportunities. There, he and his wife worked at Cardone Industries until he retired in 2001. Chacko will be fondly remembered for his passion for history and politics, both Indian and American. An avid Jeopardy fan and tennis enthusiast, he enjoyed quiet moments of intellectual engagement and was always eager to stay informed. He was known for his disciplined and humble nature, his punctuality, and his minimalist lifestyle. In his younger years in India, he often biked everywhere, reflecting his practical and grounded character. A faithful man, he was deeply committed to his parish and attended church regularly, finding solace in his spiritual community. Though he had a tendency to worry, particularly about the safety and well-being of his family, his concern always stemmed from love. His quiet acts of care, such as researching travel destinations and ensuring his loved ones were safe, spoke volumes about his devotion. Chacko’s thoughtfulness extended to his first granddaughter, to whom he would gift quarters he lovingly collected in an empty Nescafé coffee container — a gesture that, in its simplicity, reflected his unique way of showing affection. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ammini Chacko; his children, Ani and Jacob; and his three cherished grandchildren. Chacko will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
