Bohdan Kantor, a resident of Arlington, Virginia died Wednesday, March 28, 2025; he was 78.
Born in Germany, Bohdan was the son of the late Iwan and Anna Kantor. He emigrated to the United States with his father and younger sister Helen (their mother had died in Germany) from Bremerhaven, Germany aboard the General ML Hersey. They arrived in New York City and traveled to Philadelphia where they settled in the Fairmount section of the city.
Bo and his sister boarded at St. Basil's Orphanage near the Ukrainian Cathedral while their father worked; he was a 1965 graduate of Central High School.
He is survived by his sister, Helen Posluszynyj and his nephews Orest and Andrij.
Bohdan's family will greet friends on Friday at 10:15 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church. Requiem Services will be sung at 10:30 AM. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
