Barbara A. Baker, a resident of Philadelphia, PA, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She was 79.
Born in Philadelphia at St. Agnes Hospital, Barbara was the daughter of the late John Henry Hess, 3rd and Rita McGarrigle Hess. She attended Frankford High School before marrying Wesley 'Bill' H. Baker in 1962.
Barbara was the loving mother of Robert Baker and the late William Baker and Donna Boyette; she was the dear grandmother of Stephen Boyette, Kevin Boyette, Christy Boyette Foster, Elysium Baker, Liam Baker and Tatum Baker. She is also survived by her great-grandson Austin James "AJ" Foster and great-granddaughter Hailey Grace Foster; her siblings: CSM John Hess (the late Kyong 'Judy'), Stephen Hess, Diana Leary (the late Robert) and Gayle Buoniconti (Gary); sisters-in-law Faye Baker and Marilyn Baker (the late Robert); her uncle, Richard McGarrigle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sadly missed by her dear friends, Millie and Bill Evans, Bonnie Muntzer, Karl (the late Marge) Kampa, Rose Patton, and Ann Delk.
Barbara loved everything 'family'; she loved the holidays, especially Christmas and New Year's Day and was a woman who loved the Lord Jesus and enjoyed her Bible studies and her time spent at Calvary Chapel Philadelphia. She especially loved her visits to the Wildwoods.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday at 10 AM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
