Anita F. McShea (nee Crowther) passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at home, with family by her side. She was 79. She was a devoted mother of 5, grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother to 1. Anita was also a devoted sister to Thomas Crowther (Mickey) and William (Ginny).
A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Anita was born to the late Dolores T. Shaffer and James Crowther. Anita was married to the love of her life, Michael J. McShea, who preceded her to eternal life on January 24, 2013.
Anita devoted her life to her entire family and was a pillar of strength and resilience to her immediate and extended family. Anita also shared beautiful lifelong friendships with her “Golden Girls” Debbie, Kate, and Eileen.
Anita graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. Little Flower always had a special place in her heart. Anita was also a devoted mom of her fur babies, especially her most recent fur babies, Rosie and Ozzy.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Anita’s life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church at 9:30 AM with mass to follow at 10:30 AM; burial at Resurrection Cemetery
