Andrew Muzyka Obituary

Andrew S. Muzyka passed away on May 28, 2025.

Andrew Stephen Muzyka was born on November 23 1964 at Germantown hospital in Philadelphia PA, a son of Eugenia (Wysoczanska) and Adam Muzyka.

He attended St. Basils elementary school in Philadelphia PA from kindergarten to sixth grade.  Our parents sent him to the seminary in Rome for seventh and eighth grade. He attended Holy Ghost Prep High School for 2 years and then he went to Neshaminy High School for his junior and senior years.

After high school, Andrew had some small jobs in retail and restaurants and electronics. He discovered a liking for construction. Andrew met a girl Suzanne Willey at 19 and they got married. She was 18. After 4 years Andrew and Suzanne got divorced. They had no children. Andrew continued with construction and met a woman Carolyn Scalf in Marylandl; they never married but he had a son with her, named Adam Muzyka. Andy also broke up with Carolyn but stayed in touch with her and Adam through the years. Years later Andrew met a woman, Patricia Howard, who he married; they had no children together. They were together for over 15 years and were separated.

Andrew had a love for music. He played the violin for several years when he was little. When he was a teenager Andrew played the guitar in a band for awhile. Andrew danced in a Ukrainian dance group when he was younger. He also was a Boy Scout in a Ukrainian scouts group CYM. Andrew also was an alter boy for a few years during Ukrainian Masses.

In his mid forties Andrew developed MS(multiple sclerosis) but continued working construction. Earlier this year Andrew started having heart problems. His heart was only at 9 percent function so he could not have a triple bypass; he did have a stent procedure done.

A Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM Thursday at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church.  Interment will be private.
