Alexandra 'Lesya' Dolinay of Hatboro, PA, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was 68
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Lesia was a daughter of the Evdokia (nee Pryshybynsky) and the late Witalij Trypupenko. She was the wife of Alexander Dolinay and mother of Roman, Julian and Adrian Dolinay. She is also survived by her siblings: Yurij, Taras and Olya
Lesya graduated from Girls High School in 1973. She then graduated from La Salle University in 1977, dual majoring in Spanish and business administration. Lesya entered her career path into banking after college; she worked 10 years at CoreStates Bank from 1985 to 1995. While at CoreStates she advanced to a Banking Officer in the International Loan Division; in her tenure there, she traveled to Mexico, Brazil, and China. Starting in 1995, Lesya took time off to raise her three children. She returned to work at the Ukrainian Self Reliance Credit Union as an auditor from 2008 and retired in 2023.
Aside from spending time with family and friends, Lesya’s biggest joy in life was traveling the world. Her love for traveling began after a study abroad summer in Madrid, Spain in 1976. Throughout their lives, Lesya traveled with her husband of 47 years, Oles. She traveled to 28 countries including Costa Rica, Morocco, many countries in Latin America, and all over Europe. Together their adventures took them to Oktoberfest in Germany, the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and a variety of cities in Ukraine. In 2014, Lesya visited her ancestral home, Chernihiv, Ukraine, with her mother Ewdokia and sister Olya. While there, they befriended the people from the village, explored their heritage, and presented them with the memoir of her grandfather Pavlo.
Lesya was an active participant in the Ukrainian community. The great passion of her youth was dancing, which she explored through ballet and Voloshky. She was also a longtime member of PLAST Ukrainian Scouting, attending a variety of camps as a counselor. Lesya involved her children in PLAST, and was very proud of their achievements and accomplishments within the organization.
Most of all, Lesya was a devoted mother. A wife who selflessly loved her husband and three children with all her heart. She was kind to everyone she met, honest to a fault, and a paragon of virtue. She will be forever loved and remembered by her friends and loved ones.
Her family will greet friends on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Requiem Services will be sung at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Boundbrook, NJ.
