Alexander G. Prociuk

   Alexander Prociuk passed away peacefully on Monday, September  12, 2022.  Alex, as everyone called him, was a sharp-witted man who loved his family and Ukraine with all of his heart.  He was a loving and devoted husband and father.  He enjoyed deep conversations with friends and family and truly enjoyed all family functions, especially holidays.  He was an avid reader and loved solving crossword puzzles.  He was always up for a good challenge.

  Alex was born on July 28, 1950 in Munich, Germany.  He immigrated with his parents and siblings to Ellis Island, NY in 1951, where they then moved and lived in Philadelphia, PA.  Alex loved science, especially chemistry, earning him a degree in Chemistry from the Community College of Philadelphia.  He was employed by the School District of Philadelphia as a Water and Fuel Treatment Engineer.

  In his youth, he belonged to PLAST (Ukrainian Scouting Organization) and spent his childhood at the Ukrainian Homestead of CEC ODWU INC.  He spent his adulthood, perpetuating the culture of Ukraine in America as a long-term president of ODWU and the Ukrainian Homestead of CEC ODWU INC. and the president of ODWU, Branch 12 in Philadelphia.  He was a member of OUN since 1976 as well as a member of various Ukrainian organizations together with his loving wife, Ulana.   Alongside his family and friends, Alex spent many years volunteering his time to advance the mission and vision of ODWU and the daily operations of the Ukrainian Homestead of CEC ODWU INC. until his last days. 

  Alex instilled his passion for the Ukrainian culture in his children to not only love Ukraine and her culture but to embrace it and live it every day.  He taught his children the value of family and hard work, staying true to yourself and the cause, and standing up for what is right.  Alex was a great man who gave his time and energy to the people and causes he truly believed in and empowered and inspired his family and friends to do the same.

  Alex is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ulana (nee Mychajluk) and his three children, Adrian, Natalia, and Maria.  He is the son of the late Wolodymyr and Irene (Onuferko) Prociuk.  He is the brother to Andrew Prociuk (Dzvinka), the late Yaroslava Vishnevsky, and the late Ihor Prociuk.  He is also survived by his sister/brother-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

  Олександер Процюк відійшов у вічність 12-го вересня, 2022 року.  Олесь (як його кликали) був   відданий муж і батько якій  всім серцем любила свою родину та Україну.  Любив розмови на різні теми. Любив родинні зустрічі а головно свята.  Любив читати та  розгадувати хрестиківки.

 Олесь народився 28-го липня, 1950 року в Мюнхені, Німеччині.  З родичами, братом та сестрою еміґрував до Америки в 1951 році і замешкав в Філядельфії, ПА.   Олесь вивчав хемію в Community College of Philadelphia де здобув “associate degree” і працював як “Water and Fuel Treatment Engineer y Philadelphia School District.” В молодості належав до Пласту і літами перебував на оселі ОДВУ ім. О.Ольжича. Як голова Центральної Управи ОДВУ присвятив життя зберігати українську культуру в Америці.  Олесь служив як довголітний адміністратор оселі ОДВУ ім. О. Ольжича та голова 12 Відділу ОДВУ в Філядельфії. Був членом ОУН від 1976 р. та належав до інших українських організацій.  Разом з родиною та приятелями Олесь добровільно працював для добра ОДВУ та Оселі до останніх днів життя.

 Олесь навчив своїх дітей безмежно любити Україну, українську культуру, своїми ділами Олесь показав дітям вартість родини, тяжкої праці та обстоютати за правду.  Олесь віддав свій час та енерґію людям та справам близькі його серцю,  і наддихнув родину та друзів робити то саме.

 Олесь залишив у смитку улюблену дружину Уляну (Михайлюк),  дітей Адріяна, Наталку та Марійку і брата Андрія (Дзвінка), племінниць, плимінників та ближчу та дальшу родину.

Oлесь, син покійних Володимира Процюка та Ірини (Онуферко) та брат покійних Ярослави Вишневської та Ігора Процюка.
