Adolfo Strok Obituary

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Adolfo Strok of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, January 1, 2026.  Adolfo was 86 years old.

Adolfo was born to Esperanza “Nadia” (Dziedowiec) and Carpio Strok on October 15, 1939 at Hospital Rauson in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He grew up in Lanus Oeste. He finished primary school and went to work in a big city hotel as an elevator / switch board operator at 14 years old.  When he turned 18, he joined and served in the Argentina Military for 2 years as a mechanic.  After serving in the military, he went to work back home as a machinist.  In October of 1963, he married the love of his life, 17-year old Lidia Draganczuk and they moved to the United States, settling in Philadelphia.  He found work making iron rail and fences, while picking up Italian along the way (only one of a handful of languages Adolfo could speak).  He began working for North American Engines on B & Allegheny where he worked until 1984, retiring on disability.  Adolphos whole life was dedicated to God.  Whether it was at Evangelical Pentecostal Church, Faith Baptist, or La Obra Missionary Trabajando Para La Cosecha, he worked tirelessly for the Lord for 20 years.  God was always first in his life.  He was also a dedicated grandfather to his 6 grandchildren, spoiling them all.  He was always thinking of others before himself.  He loved being outside and talking with people.

Adolfo was predeceased by his father and mother as well as his younger brother Carlos.  Adolfo is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lidia (Draganczuk) and his sons David and Anthony (Dana), and 6 grandchildren - Zachary, Rileigh, Jacob, Luke, Makenna, and Samantha.  He also leaves behind his siblings Juan (Cathy), Paulo (Lidia), Pedro (Arlene), Sara (Michael Trikur), and Susana (Alberto Kosciuczyk) as well as many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday at 10 AM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home.  Prayers will be recited at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at William Penn Cemetery.
