William Yuschak, a resident of Maple Glen, PA, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was 93.
Born in Philadelphia in 1925, Bill was the son of the late Julian and Tatiana Yuschak. He grew up around 5th & Fairhill Streets and graduated in 1942 from Northeast High School at the top of his class.
While attending Temple University from 1942 to 1946 on a partial scholarship, he worked nights, Saturdays and summers at the George A. Miller CPA Firm in downtown Philadelphia; he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1946 and became a Pennsylvania CPA in 1949. Bill attended Temple's Graduate School of Business and earned his MBA in 1952. He joined the DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware in 1951, serving in various staff and supervisor capacities in its accounting, auditing, tax and foreign subsidiaries operations. In 1969, he joined AMETEK Inc of Paoli, PA to form and build a Tax Department; he became tax manager and later Director of Taxes. In 1970, he was elected assistant treasurer and assistant secretary. In 1988, he became Treasurer of Ketema Inc (an AMETEK spin-off company), retiring in 1992. Bill was a long-time member of the American Institute of CPA's, Pennsylvania Institute of CPA's and Tax Executives Institute.
Bill was a Parish Council member for 20 years (16 years as Financial Secretary) of St. Michael Russian Orthodox Church and a choir member for over 75 years.
Bill married the former Olga Michaels in 1950 and they had celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary before she died in 2008. He was the devoted father of his loving sons Mark M. Yuschak PhD (Holly M.) and James V. Yuschak MD (Susan L.); he is also survived by his grandchildren Caitlyn E. Yuschak and Eric W. Yuschak as well as his sister Dolores Lichatz, five nieces, two nephews, 3 grandnieces and 3 grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday at 9 AM at St. Michael Russian Orthodox Church. Requiem Services will be sung at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
