Valentina Kuzmen of Phoenixville died Sunday, March 11, 2018; she was 85. Born in Kiev, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Viera (Husinina) Baverov.
Valentina was employed as a seamstress for many years for a medical clothing manufacturer before retiring.
She was the wife of the late Alex Kuzmen and is survived by her brother Edward Baverov; and her children: Val Kuzmen and his wife Mary Beth, Claudia Brozda and her husband Nicholas and Kate Cox and her husband John. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kathleen Malone (Thomas), Michelle Faulkner (Robert), Evan Brozda, Nicholas Cox, Alex Cox and Andre Cox; her great-grandchild Connor Malone; and her nephews Victor Baverov and Nicholas Baverov. She loved her family most of all and was very loved in return. She taught them to be strong, love one another and to be the best in whatever they achieved.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday at 4:30 PM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home. A Memorial Service/ Panakyda prayers will be sung at 5 PM; afterwards, her viewing will continue until 8 PM. Valentina's funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 AM at St. Stephen Orthodox Cathedral, 8598 Verree Road. Requiem Services will be sung at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
