Sancia Diana Twardy

Sancia Diana Twardy (Sandy) was born on May 2, 1975 in Montego Bay, Jamaica West Indies, to Elberga and George Drummond. Sancia grew up and went to school in Jamaica where she excelled in completing all competitive examinations at the highest levels. Upon completion of her education at Harrison Memorial High School, she migrated to the United States and completed her college degree in Business Administration at Pierce College in Philadelphia PA. After graduating, she worked several different jobs but found working in the nursing care field the most rewarding. Sandy loved providing nursing care for the elderly who appreciated her services.

In December 1999, Steven Twardy married Sancia Diana Drummond. The marriage produced three (3) children:  Britney, age 18, Stephen, age 16, and Kyle, age 15. Mr. Steven Twardy died unexpectedly at a young age, on November 27, 2009, leaving his wife, Sancia to raise their three children. She did the job of a single mother with grace and the full support of her mother, Elberga, her aunt, Beverley, and her uncle, Glen, who exemplified a father figure for the boys.

Sancia was a loving, supportive and responsible mother, spending quality time with her children. She provided home school for them and was always looking out for their best interests.  Despite the sudden death of her husband in 2009, Sancia firmly stood for the well-being and protection of her children. Sancia had a very close relationship with her mother and was her chief confidant.  Sancia also provided extended support for some of her extended family who also migrated to the United States in later years.  Everyone was touched by her loving devotion for her children, her kind hospitality, and her sense of responsibility, her generosity and fighting Spirit. Sancia sincerely loved God and talked often of the goodness of God and her faith in Jesus. She was firmly dependent on The Almighty to help her get throughout her life daily.

The Lord God in his infinite wisdom called our dearly beloved Sancia Twardy home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She leaves behind family and friends to mourn her legacy of love.  Her children Britney, Stephen, Kyle, and mother, Elberga, miss her dearly.  Her aunts are mourning her death: Paulette, Beverley, Veronica, Maxine, and her cousin, Jennifer Clark. Sancia also left behind her uncles: Glen, Stanley, Charles and Moses. One uncle (Herbert) preceded her in death.  In addition, Sancia had many in-laws on her husband’s side namely Carol, Debbie, Michael and Joe who are mourning her death.  Her cousins, extended family, friends and co-workers also miss Sancia.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sancia's viewing beginning 5:00PM on Thursday, April 26th at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19115.

A Funeral Service for Sancia will be celebrated 11:00AM on Friday the 27th, at Lehigh Baptist Church, 934 Alburger Street in Philadelphia. The service will follow her viewing at the Church beginning at 10:00AM.
