Olha Holowecky, a resident of the Lawndale section of Philadelphia and formerly of the Logan section of the city, died Sunday, December 1, 2019. She was 90.
Born in Wieniawka, Ukraine, Olha was the daughter of the late Dr. John and Leonia (Zradowsky) Oleksyshyn. The family emigrated to the United States in 1949 and settled in Philadelphia. Olha was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her B.S. in biochemistry in 1952.
Olha is predeceased by her husband Dr. Nicholas Holowecky and her son Bohdan Holowecky; she is survived by her grandson Nicholas Holowecky, her sister Nadia Bulyk, her nephew Jaroslaw Bulyk and her niece Marta Bulyk.
Her viewing will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church. Requiem Liturgy will be sung at 12 PM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA.
