Mrs. Mary George Jacob
January 7, 1946 – December 23, 2019
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Mrs. Mary Jacob was born on January 7, 1946 in Thundiyil House, Erumakkadu, Aranmula, Kerala to the late Mr. Yohannan Thomas and late Mrs. Annamma Thomas. She was the eldest among five children, one sister and three brothers. She left Kerala to study general nursing at G.T. Hospital, Mumbai. Upon graduation, she worked at Cama Hospital, Mumbai. She went to study her BSC Nursing at J.J Hospital. During her career, she worked as a Tutor at Akola General Hospital and Tutor at JJ Hospital. She later went to work in Saudi Arabia for three years as staff RN. After she came back, she settled in Vashi, New Mumbai where she continued to work and raise her children. She immigrated to the US in 1995 and moved to Allentown, PA where she worked on a part time basis to support the family. In 2002, she moved to Philadelphia, PA and spend her time as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family.
During her years in Mumbai, she was an active member at the St. Paul’s Mar Thoma Church, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. She taught Sunday School and was active member of Sevika Sangham. Mary led an honest and humble life characterized by her faith in God and devotion to her family. Due to some health issues, she wasn’t able to participate or be involved in church activities during her stay in Philadelphia. Mary was a woman who had strong moral values and did her best to support her children / family. Mary is survived by her spouse George Jacob along with their late son Jobby Jacob, son Jimmy Jacob and daughter-in-law, Sajitha Jacob. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel, and Isabel.
On December 23, 2019, Mary George Jacob left her earthly body to be with our heavenly father. Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Daughter. Wife. Mother. Sister. Grandmother, are all titles that Mrs. Mary Jacob held with great honor. She will be remembered as a caring mother and wife, supportive sister to her siblings, and loving grandmother.

Thomas K Mathew, Youth Chaplain for their dedicated, spiritual support during this difficult time. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Daniel P. Thomas (Sunny Uncle) for conducting the funeral arrangements with ease. Additionally, we want to acknowledge the loving support and prayers we received in this time of need from our family and friends.
