Lubomir Luchanko, a long time resident of Rydal, PA, died on Friday, February 2, 2018. He was 85.
Born in Ternopil, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Hryhorij and Anna Towarnicki Luchanko. He emigrated to the United States with his family to New York City. He joined the US Air Force and was discharged in 1960 with the rank of Airman 1st Class. Lubomir married the former Nadia Ostruk in Philadelphia on September 9, 1956 ;
He attended Temple University before enrolling in Drexel University where he graduated with a BS in Business Administration. He worked for many years as a production manager for an electronics firm before retiring.
He is survived by his wife Nadia; his daughter, Natalia Bobak and her husband Oleh; his son, Orest Luchanko and his wife Stephanie; his grandsons, Stephan Luchanko and Mark Luchanko; his nephews Yaroslaw, Zorian, Lubomir and Roman Sperkacz and his extended family in the United States, Europe and Ukraine.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10 AM at Annunciation BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, Old York & Valley Rds., Melrose Park, PA. Requiem Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA.
