John Connelly, born and raised in Philadelphia, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 on the occasion of his 75th birthday.
John was the son of the late John C.V. and Julia (Fehrle) Connelly. He attended Roosevelt Junior High School and Germantown High School. He was employed in the housekeeping department of St. John Neumann Nursing Home for many years before retiring; he also waxed cars and mowed lawns throughout his neighborhood.
John was most proud of traveling to Disney World in Florida by himself and was especially proud of the fact that he always had worked and was never on unemployment. His favorite place was Disney World where he enjoyed feeling young again.
He liked watching 'Old Yeller', 'LA Law', 'Monk' and reruns of 'The Andy Griffith Show' and 'Sanford and Son'. Among the many holidays, his most favorite was Halloween and his favorite hobby was photography. His cats were his favorite pets.
John is survived by his sister, Mary Connelly; his daughter, Angelique; his grandchildren: Mariah, Michelle and Maria; his great-grandchild, Gabriel; his nephews: Albert (Donna), Paul (Deborah), Steven (Diane) and Frank (Jonel); and his great nieces and nephews: Lisa, Rob, Michelle, Paul, Connie, Steven, Ronnie, Linda, Gina, Frank and Stephanie. He is predeceased by his sister, Dolores Christy and his brother, Joseph Connelly.
