Iwan Jakubenko

Iwan Jakubenko quietly passed Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 95 years of age.

Beloved Husband of the late Tetiana and loving father of Walter, he is also survived by his sister-in-law  Maria Zulla.  Born in the town of Ivanivka, Kyiv Oblast Ukraine.  During the second World War he was forced to become part of of the slave labor workforce. After the War he spent seven years in a Refugee Camp, before being able to immigrate to the United States via Germany.

Coming to American  he settled in Philadelphia, where he became a meat packer working until his retirement 30 years later. He enjoyed quite moments on his porch and major league baseball games and fishing with his son Walter.

Funeral Services for Iwan will begin 10:00 AM on Monday November 11th at Saint Andrew Memorial Church on the cemetery grounds of Saint Andrew Cemetery in S. Bound Brook.  His viewing will begin at 9:30 AM.  Burial to follow the service in Saint Andrew Cemetery.
