Helen (Bilyi) McGurk, age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Greenfield Senior Living, Lansdale, PA.
She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Shushko) Bilyi, and preceded in death by several siblings, and her husband Francis J. McGurk.
Helen served as judicial secretary and chief clerk to Judge Robert J. Conway of the Wayne County Court of Common Pleas for 26 years until her retirement in 2006. Judge Conway considered her the “mother hen of the courthouse” for her ability to oversee all of the personal and professional details of his office.
She is survived by her children; Edward (Lynda) Scheckner, Jeffrey (Kate) Scheckner, and Arlene (Bob) Widman, stepchildren; John (Valerie) McGurk, Francis J. (Linda) McGurk, Mary Ellen (Thomas) Reinhart, Joseph (Claudia) McGurk, Kristine Campbell, Kathleen McGurk, Alice (Stephen) Taylor, Patricia (Thomas) West, and Bridget (Andrew) Jardel, 21 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Monday Evening (April 2, 2018) from 6 PM to 8 PM, and Tuesday (April 3, 2018) from 11 AM to 12 Noon at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Avenue, Phila., PA 19115. Funeral Service at 12 Noon with Fr. Taras Naumenko, Protopriest of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Interment will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery with her late husband Francis.
