George Cehelsky Obituary

George J Cehelsky, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully at 96 years of age. He was born in 1922 in Terebovlia, Ukraine.

George was the son of the Very Reverend Eugene Cehelsky and Jaroslava Cehelsky (Rozlucky).  He immigrated to the United States and settled in Bethlehem in 1949 where George married his beloved wife Nadia (Luckyj). He opened a watchmaking and jewelry business where he worked for over 40 years. George was a certified watchmaker and was well known in the region for his clockmaking expertise. He was passionate about his job. George’s family and friends spent their leisure time at the family cabin where they enjoyed each other’s company and created treasured memories.  He will be remembered for his wry sense of humor and dedication to his craft.

He was a devoted husband of the late Nadia and loving father to daughters Irene Cehelsky-Ciuk, Anya Cehelsky, Bohdanna Cehelsky, Stephanie Cehelsky and her husband Christopher DeAngelo.  George will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Stefan and wife Irene, Zachary, Dominic, Adrian and Olena and great-grandchildren Terence and Damian.

George was preceded in death by his infant son George, his brother Roman, sister Maria Kalba, son-in-law Oleh Ciuk, and grandson Mark Ciuk.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Parastas Services on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 2 PM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home.  His family will also be observing his Fortieth Day with a Requiem Liturgy on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 10 AM at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1826 Kenmore Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18018. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1836 Kenmore Avenue, Bethleham, PA 18018.
