Elwood (Woody) R. Newton

Elwood (Woody) R. Newton went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2019 at the age of 65.

Elwood was born on November 2, 1953 to the late John and Stella (Teall) Newton in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Frankford High School in 1972. He worked at the Medical College of Pennsylvania for 23 years and retired from the Internal Revenue Service.

Woody enjoyed spending time talking with his friends, eating good food, and cooking.

Throughout his life he shared an unwavering belief in God, and was a member of Tenth Presbyterian Church, 1701 Delancey Place, Philadelphia, PA.

Elwood joins his parents John and Stella, and his sister Nancy in heaven. He is survived by his sisters Carol A. Williams and Shirley (Eric) A. Eisemann.

All are welcome to Woody's Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Lehigh Baptist Church, 934 Alburger Ave., Phila., PA 19115. Service will begin at 11 AM.
