Eleanor Stevenson, a Bucks County resident since 1954, died Monday, February 26, 2018. She was 98. Eleanor was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, one of nine children of the late Anthony and Josephine (Kuncinski) Danielewicz.
She attended St. Laurentius Grade School and Mastbaum Tech. She met her husband Stanley in the neighborhood and they attended many a bingo game together at St. Anne's Parish Hall. Eleanor worked for Gimbels Department Store as a seamstress. She and Stanley married on June 26, 1954 and moved to their home on Harding Avenue in Feasterville that same year. Eleanor retired from her job at Gimbel's and took on her bigger job as wife, mother and homemaker for her husband and their two children, Lorraine and Stanley.
Stanley died in 1985 and Eleanor remained in Feasterville until moving to D'Youville Manor in 2007 where she enjoyed the company of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and her fellow residents. In 2016, she moved to St. Joseph Manor.
Eleanor maintained her love of sewing and crocheting afghans; she continued her enjoyment of bingo and she played a mean game of pinochle. Eleanor embraced her Polish heritage and dancing to the sounds of a good polka band.
