Donald T Griffin

Donald T. Griffin passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Abington Hospital. He was 93. He was a resident of Southampton Estates Retirement-Life Community.

Donald was born and raised in Philadelphia (January 2, 1926), son of the late Norman and Meta (Frich) Griffin. He was the beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Zerby) Griffin; the loving father of Janet G. Lamont (husband Jeffrey) and Susan G. Warlow; best grandfather to Jeffrey and Chelsea Lamont; great grandfather to Greer Claudia and Daphne Lorraine Lamont; and brother of Charles M. Griffin.

Donald spent parts of many summers in Ocean City, NJ, where he met his future wife Lorraine. He had wished to revisit the shore into his dying days. He served with the Merchant Marines. Donald was a long-time active member of various United Methodist churches, including Somerton United Methodist Church in Philadelphia.

A lover of cars, Donald worked alongside his father at Griffin Buick. He spent the majority of his life at two major dental supply corporations as a National Sales Manager. Donald was a true people person! After retiring, he moved with his wife to the ACTS Retirement-Life Community at Southampton Estates, where he was elected for two terms of service as President of the Resident's Association.

Donald loved his family first; loved people; loved his church; loved to eat.... and loved life to the fullest!

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service Friday, February 1, 2019 at 12 noon, at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, 9529 Bustleton Ave., Phila., PA 19115. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 am to 12 noon. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.
