Clara Bohaczuk Obituary

Clara Bohaczuk of Wyckoff, New Jersey and formerly of the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019.  She was 96.

Born in Munich, Germany, Clara was the daughter of the late Maria (Bayer) and Josef Grassl.   She met her future husband, Teodor Bohaczuk, after World War II; they were married in Germany.  Clara and Teodor emigrated to the United States in September of 1951, entering through the Port of Baltimore.  They settled in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, moved to the Wynnfield section for a number of years before moving back to Fairmount.

Clara worked for the Penn Company, Accuracy Scientific and Girard College; she retired from Girard College in the 1980's.  Her family was devoted to the parish of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church; her oldest son remembers scrapping wall paper and helping to paint the Basilian Sisters convent while he was in grade school.

She is survived by her sons: Anthony Bohaczuk and his wife Phyllis; Teodor Bohaczuk and his wife Lauren; and John Bohaczuk.  She is also survived by her granddaughters: Sonya Bohaczuk and Stephanie Bohaczuk.
